Ludvig Norman: "Barnens dansar och lekar"/"Children's Dances and Plays" Op. 47, "Pianostycken"/"Piano Pieces" Op. 56, "Kontraster"/"Contrasts" Op. 61, "Albumblad"/"Album Leaves" Op. 64
One of early Swedish Romanticism's superstars, Ludvig Norman has a considerable output in many of the popular genres, including small character pieces for piano, which were in high demand. His writing is very much influenced by the German tradition, especially the Leipzig school, in many aspects reminiscent of Schumann. Norman had significant influence on later Swedish composers, and some of his works are still frequently performed.
