...And So The Gates Unlocked

The name behind Dequincy is the Italian songwriter and music producer Marco Tommaseo. His music career starts back in Italy as guitarist, vocalist and songwriter for several bands, also working for the music industry as a sound engineer and music producer.
He moves to Bristol in 2013 and starts playing with local psych/experimental band Agarimo and forms two years later his own project, Almagrey.
At the end of 2017 he temporarily leaves Bristol to write and pre-produce his solo album in Turin, Italy. Back in England in 2018 he self-produces the album “…And So The Gates Unlocked” as Dequincey.

The album includes 10 songs all linked together as a whole soundtrack, guiding the listener through different phases of a gradual spiritual revelation and mystical journey.
The music composition is often free of typical structures but rather progress through images and visions.
“And so the gates unlocked” is a metaphor of breaking boundaries of the mind and change perception about the existence, freeing the spirit from individual disturbs and negativity. It’s a contemporary introspective tale about personal awakening, spirituality, ecstasy and pain.

The album was wrote and partially recorded at “3DC Bedroom Studio” near Turin (Italy) at the end of October 2017.
The drums were secondarily recorded at Tesla Studio in Sheffield with session drummer Edward Evans and sound engineer David Glover in June 2018.
The recorded multi-tracks were finally taken to Dominic Mitchison at Malthouse Studios in Bristol for the post-production in October 2018.
The mastering was done by Shawn Joseph at the Optimum studio in Bristol in April 2019.
In July 2019 Dequincey launched a crowdfunding campaign and successfully raised fundings to press a few hundreds copies of the album in vinyl.
Simoultaneosly Dequincey became a 5 piece band which started performing a series of gigs in the UK.
