REBEL ON BASS:

A global mashup of avantgarde beats and bass sounds


Philipp Rehm takes the audience on a refreshing and surprising beat-and-bass trip. His flavourful compositions combine innovative rhythms with punchy electronic dance grooves, while also portraying the infectious beats of dancehall and crossover, echoing the work of influential artists the likes of Prodigy, Bob Marley, or Larry Graham. Phil’s remarkable bassplaying explores all the sounds and colours of his instrument: funky basslines straight from the fingertips, unique grooves, wicked percussive improvisations and crystal clear melodies. His 2015 release „The Philbum“ was called „a masterpiece in the league of the greats“ by french „Bassiste Magazine“ and was chosen „album of the month“ of german „Sticks Magazine“. 2004 Rehm had been chosen „Superbassplayer of Germany“ by german „Bass Professor Magazine“.


His live shows are with electronics, DJ-setup and bass. In the duo PLUQ he works together with famous german drummer Ralf Gustke. On his album he involved various famous artists like

Rhani Krija (Sting), Pallavi Arun or Emilio Martins among others. As a sideman he worked with several famous bands and artists.


Phil was born in 1979 in Berlin, Germany. Already since his early life he often changed his place of residence and learned: home is, where the heart is and where music has soul. Now he lives in the Netherlands.
