The beauty of seasons
Enjoy the tireless cycle of the seasons and the beauty of life, envisioned through piano and orchestra.

Foreword:
From the splendor of spring flowers to the tranquil beauty of autumn leaves, from the first snow of winter to the scorching heat of the sun, the seasons tirelessly continue their cycle, and time carries on with utter silence and incomparable grandeur.
After a long winter, spring begins anew, stretching across the landscape. It skips along with the melody of the piano, bathed in cool moonlight, sprinkled with rain, as it spreads its wings among the rivers. Dusk spills across the horizon, as swallows circle overhead amidst the silky strands of clouds. The wild geese return from their distant voyage, traversing the valley where the plantains have reddened and the cherry trees have taken on a lush emerald hue. Next to the way station, the ancient, slightly tilted tower’s reflection on the water has not changed in the least over the years…or has it? Within the deep courtyard, dusk falls like a thick blanket, while the weeping willows along the riverbank begin to freshen themselves to welcome the arrival of spring.
The beauty of nature lies in its constantly shifting state, the flux of the four seasons. The prosperity of spring, the fervor of summer, the abundance of autumn, and the tranquility of winter.
Through their spring blossoms and autumn moon, summer breeze and winter snow, the cycle of the seasons never ends, forever alternating between warmth and cold. Those spring mornings where you can open the windows and greet the sunlight, those early summer afternoons when you can sit and enjoy the lotus flowers as the breeze cools you calmly, those beautifully still autumn evenings where the only sound is the leaves crunching beneath your feet, and those long winter nights when the wind howls outside while all of you huddle around the fireplace…All of these seem to have slipped through the cracks of time, as if they had been whisked off to a land far beyond the sunset. Looking back, it feels like these memories are indeed a world away.
The four seasons are like a microcosm of life:spring is childhood, a time of recklessness and resplendence, of experience and growing up, a time full of vitality; summer is youth, a time of blazing passions, of fervent vigor and inexhaustible energy; autumn is adulthood, peaceful and filled with rewards, a time of self-reassurance; and winter is old age, returning to a state of serenity after an eventful and memorable life.
Spring, summer, autumn and winter, the four seasons of the year, lead us through the vicissitudes of life, sowing and reaping time and time again.Throughout many of our fondest memories music is always there to accompany us, and because of music these memories are all the moreprecious.
On The Beauty of the Seasons, we can hear the whisper of flower petals in the spring wind, the pattering of rain on the roof, the caress of leaves against the ground, and the confession of the winter’s first snowfall. We can feel the persistent pace of the four seasons, the deliberate passage of time, the revolution of the moon and the tides it brings, the peaceful existence of life. Join us as we leave behind the cacophonies of the world, wipe away the dust of the soul, let only your ears and heart remain as you allow yourself to become lost in the beauty of music, and amidst the beauty of music find your true self.
Music producer Ye Yunchuan loves to travel the world, and is always sure to take photos wherever he goes, using both music and images to capture moments which encapsulate the passage of time, keeping a record of the years as they become vestiges of the past. For this compilation, The Beauty of the Seasons, Mr. Ye worked with Japanese composer Ikuro Fujiwara, to bring you a stunningly moving representation of the changes of the season, expressed by piano and an orchestra. Standing out amongst our clamorous and impetuous surroundings, within our narrow, cramped spaces, in the depths of our hearts where the light of the sun rarely reaches, this album is an ode to spiritual abandon, a consolation of the soul, in which every listener can allow themselves to be overcome with compassion and joy at each natural cycle of the world, each alternation of time, each spring bloom, summer breeze, autumn moonrise, and winter snowstorm.
